Hey everyone, I’m Mike and my wife and I live up on the north side of Chicago, not too far from Wrigley Field. Pam and I love Samoyeds. We’ve been pet parents to three Samoyeds over the past 20 years or so and they’re the sweetest dogs in the world. We’ve had a female named Zoya, and two males Ramius & Sacha.
Sadly we lost Zoya in 2008 and Ramius in 2016, both of them to cancer. So now it’s the two of us and Sacha (pictured) who is 5 years old and super sweet.
All of our Samoyeds are purebreds and we got each of them when they were about 8 weeks old. So we’re true experts on every Samoyed.
The reason I created this site was to help folks like you who have a Samoyed or are thinking about getting one. I’ve been through it all from how to raise a Samoyed, what it’s like going from having one Samoyed to two (and back again), what to feed them, how to train them, and how to care for them when they’re sick (Zoya and Ramius each had diabetes and cancer but Sacha is under strict orders not to get either of these :-). And while Samoyeds are the greatest, they can be quite stubborn and headstrong at times. I’m here to help.
I’ll be sharing my opinions, experiences, and recommendations with you, along with other fun stuff I find on the web that I think is cool, interesting, or educational.
And if by some miracle I ever say anything that captures your interest, please get involved within my site. I love to talk about Samoyeds and if you have anything interesting you want to share, or any opinions of any of the content I have created on my site, please do speak up.
So now to me…
I am an actor and writer and in my late forties living on the north side of Chicago but spending lots of time in LA as well. I grew up in a household without dogs and knew nothing about them until I starting dating my wife Pam who at that time had a Samoyed named Zoya. To show you how little I truly knew, Pam asked me to walk Zoya one afternoon and I didn’t know you’re supposed to carry poop bags and clean up after them. She asked me what I did when Zoya pooped and I looked at her blankly. She still teases me about this today.
Well, I’ve come a long way since then and have been a pet parent now for nearly 20 years. I’m pretty much an expert of everything Samoyeds except when it comes to showing. We don’t show our dogs. However we do love the movie, “Best in Show.”
So that’s it. I hope you’ll find this site useful and together we’ll have a place to talk about our shared passion of Samoyeds. And please make sure you visit my site regularly as I plan to be updating it with all kinds of cool stuff I come across that I hope you’ll find interesting.
