Dog Cooling Beds – Keeping Your Pooch Cool in the Summer

Finding the Right Dog Cooling Bed or Mat – Reviews

Well it’s over 90 degrees with a humidity level of one billion percent. You know, a typical summer day here in the Midwest.

And when you have a large breed of dog, and a particularly hairy breed like a Samoyed, it’s important to keep them cool. If you’re fortunate enough to have air conditioning where you are, you’ll want to make sure you keep it on for your dog. Especially if you’re away during the day. If not, try to keep your place as cool and comfortable as you can for your best friend. Fans work well, as you can tell by looking at Sacha above.

But whether you have A/C or not, one thing that can really aid your pooch is a dog cooling bed or mat. We keep our place pretty cool in the summer (my wife is always freezing while I’m perfectly comfortable – sound familiar?), but even so, we’ve used a cooling bed for our Samoyeds for years. The can come in really handy, especially on those super hot and humid summer nights. Remember if you Sammy is sleeping through the night that means you’re sleeping through the night!

So if this hot weather has you thinking about getting a dog cooling bed or mat, I’ve researched a bunch of them. Here are some of the more popular ones online.

Wow! I can honestly tell I’ve never seen something as cool as this. This just might be what my own dog needs. During the summer, he’s BUSTED because of the heat. Very thick fur.

    Thanks for the review.

Thanks for commenting. Yeah, they can be really beneficial for dogs with thick fur. And if it’s one thing Samoyeds have, it’s very thick fur!

This is great to keep your dog cool in warm weather… and it looks so comfortable!!! Pretty sure it will keep them calm and you will too!

    Are those easy to clean?

Thanks for the comment! Yes, the one we have is very easy to clean. It’s not immune to stains of course, but in terms of wiping them up, it’s very easy.

Are there also dog cooling beds that do require electricity? That would sound like a good option to me. Then I don’t need to recharge or cool it down again and my dog would have a constantly cool bed.
Does this exist or is there any disadvantage that I am overlooking?

Thanks Mike for this list of cooling mats. Perfect timing! I love the sound of No. 2 so will get this for our dog who is finding the heat too much. Alisa
