Chicago Based Digital Company is Perfect for Pet Professionals

Today I want to talk to you about one of the coolest young companies I know, called FetchFind. In a nutshell, FetchFind is an online marketplace for pet businesses and professionals.

In other words, if you’re a pet professional looking for a job , you should go to FetchFind. Or if you own a business in the pet industry and need to find employees, you should go to FetchFind as well.

It’s like a centralized online job board for those who are offering work and looking for work in the pet industry, no matter where you live. For example, imagine you own a dog grooming business in Houston, TX and you need to hire a qualified groomer right away. FetchFind can provide a pipeline of candidates for you to consider. Or say you’re a Vet Tech in Manhattan looking for work, just pop on over to FetchFind to start your job search. Sure beats Craig’s List don’t you think?!

The #1 e-learning solution for the pet industry

But FetchFind is much more than just an online job board. And though that remains a primary focus, FetchFind has evolved and expanded its offerings aggressively in its short two year history. They now offers online training courses so you can build your credentials and skill set as a pet industry professional. And FetchFind has already become the #1 e-learning solution for the pet industry.

So if your hiring, looking for a job, or trying to increase your knowledge base and skill set, FetchFind is the place for you!

Jamie Migdal, CEO & Founder

FetchFind’s Superstar CEO Jamie Migdal

FetchFind was founded and is run by superstar entrepreneur Jamie Migdal. Jamie is one of the leading entrepreneurs in the city of Chicago and is on the fast track to be one of the top leaders in all of the United States. She is one of tech.co’s top ten entrepreneurs over 40, and just last month has been accepted into Chicago based incubator 1871’s WiSTEM fall cohort. WiSTEM (Women in STEM) is a 16-week program that connects women digital entrepreneurs to capital, community, and technology resources.

Jamie has spent the last 20 years in the pet industry and has created several startups. She founded FetchFind in 2014 because she identified a critical market need. She knew one thing really lacking in the pet industry was one central, authoritative, trusted place to hire employees. FetchFind was born out of that idea, and it has grown exponentially ever since.

Zoya

Zoya says, “Jamie trained me!”

Beyond her incredible drive and passion, she is also one of the best people on the planet. My wife and I first met Jamie about 18 years ago when she helped us train our first Samoyed Zoya. We immediately nicknamed her “The Dog Whisperer” because Jamie could communicate with Zoya in ways we had never seen before. It was almost like they spoke the same language. Whereas we had difficulty getting Zoya to stop barking, Jamie could get Zoya to calm down with a simple wave of her hand. She’s literally that amazing.

One thing about Samoyeds is that they are headstrong, which if you’ve been reading this blog, you already know. So when we first got Ramius several years later, Jamie was the first person we called. She was still running her dog training business at that point, so we took Ramius through both private and in-class lessons with Jamie. Quick side note, as you may know Ramius sadly passed away in January, 2016 of cancer.

Ramius says, “Jamie Trained Me Too!”

I’ve devoted an entire retrospective series of Ramius’s battle with cancer which I encourage you to read. As of this writing, I’ve written five blog posts in the series, but there will be several more over the coming weeks. If you have a dog with cancer, or know somebody who does, I urge you read this series. You’ll find a lot of good information over there, and it’s comforting to know you’re not alone and others have gone through the same thing. You can start with the first blog entry by clicking here.

Okay, back to training. By the time we got Sacha, Jamie wasn’t doing as much hands on training, so we used her company Animal Sense. And even though Jamie wasn’t there with us in a hands on way, her influence was clear. If you’d like to get Sacha’s perspective on things (and frankly who doesn’t amirite?), you can click here for Sacha’s Diary.

Sacha says, “I have to go poop!”

Jamie also blogs on the FetchFind site on the Fetchy’s Blog page which I encourage you to check out too. Lots of great information over there!

If You’re a Pet Pro – Visit FetchFind!

If you yourself operate a business in the pet industry, or if you’re a pet industry professional, you really need to do yourself a favor and get familiarized with FetchFind. And if you know somebody in the industry, I encourage you to share this information with them as well. You couldn’t be in better hands with Jamie and the whole team over at FetchFind!

If you have any questions about FetchFind, or if you already use their site, please leave us a comment and let us know! We’ll be sure to get back to you.

Wow.. This is the first time I hear FetchFind. I think the website has a great idea.

Can I still use FetchFind just to find a professional dog groomer for a day? Or the website is specifically for employer-employee needs?

I will check your dogs’ diaries later. I love to read how dog impacts our lives. Thank you.

Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it! I don’t think you can use FetchFind to find a particular groomer. But the owner of the dog grooming business can use it to find qualified groomers to hire. Thanks for commenting.

    Hi there,

I didn’t about the Fetchfind until I came across your website, it sounds really cool! I am not in the pet industry but my friend is and I am sure that if she sees this review, she will find it very useful!
Just a question, please. Is it possible to have a dog training online? I am having some problems with my dogs and I really need help.
    Thank you very much!

Hi Daniella. Great, please share this post with your friend! You’re right, I think she’ll find it useful. There are lots of great resources online to help with dog training. I’d definitely spend some time on the FetchFind site. Also, you can check out the Train Pet Dog site for dog training and information too.

What I might suggest though is you contact your veterinarian and ask him/her if they can recommend a certified dog trainer in your area. That might be your best bet.

Thanks Rosie! And that’s great, please do share FetchFind with your daughter. Ask her to tell them that ‘The Smiling Samoyed’ sent her 🙂

And I’m so very sorry to hear about your dog. I know how horrible it is. Two of our three dogs had cancer (Zoya had it as well as Ramius) and it’s very difficult. But I hope you will read the retrospective series on Ramius and his battle with cancer. If you have any questions, please leave me a comment and I’ll get back to you.
